DNAI (Data Network Access Identifier) in 5G Network

DNAI ((Data Network Access Identifier) identifies specific data network access point that a UE (User Equipment) connects to.

It enables the efficient routing and delivery of data to the appropriate data access network. This supports advanced services like multi-access edge computing (MEC).

DNAI information enables the 5G network to steer traffic to the appropriate MEC server, based on the data access network that the UE connects to. The Session Management Function (SMF) dynamically route user traffic to the most suitable data network access point using this information.

DNAI is typically represented as a string, similar to a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) or a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).

Here's an example of a possible DNAI format, "mec.edge8.city3.region1.5g.example.com".
