Charging Gateway Function (CGF) in Mobile Network
CGF stands for "Charging Gateway Function". It is a key component in the charging and billing architecture of mobile networks.
The CGF receives the charging data records (CDRs) from the Charging Data Function (CDF) or other network elements. It acts as a centralized point for collecting the charging data generated by various network functions.
Then the CGF summaries the collected charging data. It then transfers the charging data to the Billing System for final invoicing.
The CGF stores the received charging data, so that it ensures this charging data is available for a sufficient duration, to support billing and regulatory requirements.
