UE Radio Capability in Mobile Networks
"UE radio capability" refers to the capabilities and characteristics of the radio interface of a User Equipment (UE).
It includes various aspects related to ability to use the radio interface such as,
- Supported Radio Access Technology (RAT), such as 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), and 5G.
- The supported frequency bands for each RAT, such as low-band, mid-band, and high-band 5G frequencies.
- Carrier Aggregation Support, which can enhance the overall data rates and capacity.
During UE registration to the network, the UE exchanges its UE radio capability with the network so that the network provides the best possible user experience by tailoring the service and resource allocation.
