Periodic TAU Timer in Mobile Networks

Periodic TAU timer refers to the time interval during which a UE that exists in Disconnected (Idle) state, must perform a Tracking Area Update (TAU) procedure, to inform the network about its current location.

It is a key concept in 4G and 5G networks, as it is used to manage the location tracking and registration of a UE within the network.
