PCC Rules (Policy and Charging Control) Rules in Mobile Networks
PCC Rules, (Policy and Charging Control) Rules, are central part of Policy and Charging Control (PCC) framework in mobile networks. PCC framework is responsible for providing dynamic policy and charging control for user sessions.
The main components in each PCC Rule include,
- PCC Rule Identification Number
- Service flow description that includes information such as source/destination IP addresses, port numbers, and application protocol to uniquely identify the data flow.
- The QoS parameters specify that shall be applied to the data flow, such as the GBR, and MBR.
- The charging parameters that define how the data flow should be charged, including the charging method (offline/online), charging key, metering method (volume/time/event)
- Policy control such as gating control, bandwidth limitation, and redirection.
